Dear New York City, June 8, 2011

You don't know me yet. We're only mere acquaintances. But I should tell you... I love you. I always have and always will. Now don't get creeped out or anything, you'll learn to love me too. I promise!

You will be my home from the day I turn 18 to the day I die. No more nights full of teenage angst wishing to be with you. The day I turn 18 you'll be mine forever. Though I may not have you until I'm 18, I will make my best effort to get to know you better.  All I know after spending a total of four hours with you is: the inside of a small Indian's silvounir shop, the New Amsterdam Theatre, and that really good BBQ place across the street.

I want to know more:

  • every street
  • the best restaurants for whatever you're craving
  • NYU
  • Broadway
  • the people
  • the smells
  • trying to fall asleep at night with horns blaring on the street, but being totally contented
  • love in the city
  • central park
  • where EXACTLY You've Got Mail was filmed
I want to know all of that and more.

But for now you'll have to hold out on me. I've still got two and a half long years before I can hold you in my arms.

So we'll start out on the basics:
I'm Cara, I'm 15, and I love you.
